The weekend of June 18-20 was our
5 year anniversary and, we had a great weekend in Morelia Mexico about 3
hours south west of Queretaro. We drove through the little Mexican towns
at 5 miles an hour (I about lost my patience a few times...ok well I did
go through culture shock just a little) and arrived at a beautiful city a
little bigger then our own. There is about 1.5 million and it is very
colonial, and a little more cosmopolitan then Queretaro, with plazas,
cafes, a beautiful cathedral and a nice historical district.
We stayed just off the main square
and our view out of our bedroom had the tower of the city cathedral (very
beautiful at night). We had some Italian food (as we needed a break from
Mexican food) and some ice cream during our leisure stroll through the
city. We took a 3 hour tour and got to know the city and then went out on
our own with little Micaiah of course and got lost in the Mexican culture
and beauty. It was a great anniversary trip and it was fun to wake up
Sunday morning to my first father's day as well. |
